CIPSPC Awards

The co-host organizations of the 2011 Canadian Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion Conference would like to recognize the outstanding work of individuals and groups who are working to prevent injury.  Nominations will be accepted for awards in Leadership, Innovation, Advocacy, and Research.  Nominations close on September 30, 2011.  Please see below for more details.

CCCIP Award for Collaborative Excellence

The Canadian Collaborating Centres for Injury Prevention Award for Collaborative Excellence is a new award which will be presented every second year at the Canadian Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference. This award will recognize and celebrate the value and power of collaboration as the keystone of effective Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion practice in Canada.

The CCCIP Award for Collaborative Excellence will recognize a Collaborative that has systematically identified a significant injury challenge, that has recognized that the best approach for addressing that challenge is a collaborative one, that has worked together effectively to address it.

Westin Bayshore Hotel Info

The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, is located in the heart of downtown, right on the water overlooking the spectacular Stanley Park and the North Shore Mountains.

Restaurants

Currents at Bayshore is open for breakfast. 6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Seawall Bar & Grill is open for lunch & dinner. 11:30 a.m. - midnight

Starbucks is located on the lobby level.

Spa/Fitness Centre

The full-service Vida Spa features 5,000 square feet to pamper & re-energize you. The WestinWORKOUT Gym has the latest equipment and facilities and is open 24 hours with room key access.

Reservations

The Westin Bayshore is the official hotel for the 2011 Canadian Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference. The conference rate is $189 per night plus applicable taxes on a space available basis. Delegates are responsible for booking their own accommodations through the hotel reservation link provided in your confirmation email.  Please ensure you book early as availability at this reduced rate is on a first-come, first- serve basis.

Transportation

Getting to the Westin Bayshore from the airport is easiest by taxi. A one-way fare is approximately $40 for the 25 minute transfer.
